Work In Progress : Landing Platform Part 1

This piece has been a bear but so much fun.

The idea I had was some sort of landing platform built into the side of a mountain. My primary goal was to test a few new techniques using traditional ink and digital painting.

Here's the finalized sketch. (I'll spare you the thumbnails since those were in my own visual shorthand.) The scan is on it's own layer in Photoshop and its blending mode is set to multiply.

The file size is roughly 7.8x11 (roughly a ratio of 5x7 scaled up) @ 300 dpi. I like to work in this size because it fits on postcards well.

Yes, I could quote all my measurements in pixels but I'm used to print. (about 20 x 28 cm. or 66.7 x 47 picas or 3336 x 2350 pixels for those who really need to know but don't want to do the math.)
