Change to Survive -- City Galactic

I have been struggling with my previous method of creating art. It was a long and laborious process and I found that I would agonize over every detail and take forever to get an image out. Instead I have tried to adopt a more liberal approach that lets me work intensely on an image for a limited time.

I am home most of the time taking care of my son while my wife has the awesome responsibility of being the primary breadwinner. (I do work part-time, but I digress...) I have found that I have a multitude of imagery in my imagination and if I maintain my old process, I will never get even a fraction out. The situation is compounded by having only an hour or two each day to paint.

So I'm trying to paint as much as I can in that hour and get the images out. It is the only way!

This image was created that way and I am hoping that as I create more and more I will be able to develop my skills. I also want to feel free to loosen my style a bit.

The image above came to me in a dream where the sky was bright with stars. Almost as though I was living in the center of the galaxy. It's not exactly like my dream but then how easy is it to capture what is in our dreams anyhow?
