And Now for Something Completely Different...

Borrowing from a famous British Comedy Program, of course.

Not long ago I discovered that the NintendoDS can do more than play games. With the help of a third-party card anyone can load programs called Homebrew that allow users to do all sorts of fun things. The one I have really gone (ahem. . . .) bananas about is called Colors. My little friend above was a product of that program. Using the stylus on the touchscreen works much like a tablet does on a full-size computer. The product is nothing fancy but that is really the point for me. It allows me to scribble without fear of "commitment" to a full-blown piece of art.

Lets face it, some of the best art is done when we least expect to do it. Napkins, scraps of paper, and virtually any surface have been drafted into the service of creating a piece of earth-shattering brilliance. It frees the mind from the worry of ruining a perfectly good piece of paper or having to perform to a standard.

Often when we allow our minds to play without these constraints the true magic happens. Creative play at its best.
